Belisario

Cantine Belisario was founded in 1971 and is the largest producer of Verdicchio di Matelica DOC, the signature white wines of the Marche region. Based in Matelica, the winery manages around 300 hectares of vineyards. All vineyards are located close to the winery in the Alta Vallesina area. The Alta Vallesina valley is central to the style of Belisario’s wines. The area combines continental temperature variation with Mediterranean sunshine, encouraging optimal ripening, preserved acidity and naturally limited yields. This distinctive microclimate gives Verdicchio di Matelica its recognisable identity: wines with freshness, structure, aromatic lift and strong regional character. Belisario’s winemaking philosophy is built around producing Verdicchio that is typical, expressive and clearly tied to place. The wines are not made to follow fashion, but to reflect a distinctive Matelica style: bright, mineral, food-friendly and capable of showing both freshness and depth.

Valbona is the fresh, classic and approachable expression of Verdicchio di Matelica, offering fragrant floral notes, savoury freshness and easy food-friendly appeal. Del Cerro is the more refined and structured expression, sourced from east-facing vineyards and showing greater power, elegance, texture and length.
